And finally, there are plenty of newsgroups created by Oliver1, the “Mad Newgroupper” from iCi. The term was coined by David Farrar in one of his rmgroup control messages. He also created the twelve month groups and seven weekday groups. Note: The alt.idiot.* groups were created by Oliver1 in response to several rmgroup addicts who attacked his groups.

Actually, they don’t seem to move with a collective consciousness at all, they act more like a Piranha frenzy attacking a hapless cow that accidentally wandered into their river, but there are seemingly several of them.
